Liverpool had 2 chances in 3minutes with both times manunited goalkeeper mistakes, torres failed to take advantage of poor defending by manunited as harry kewell struck from gerrard's cross , only for anderson to clear on the line, the ball goes perfectly to torres's head, who in in front of goal, but he heads just wide the post. 3minutes later, manunited goalkeeper with another mistake and allows Kuyt to sneak behind him , but vidic tackles the ball on the line with Kuyt sneaking behind him. the ball goes out as ronaldo clears it. Liverpool dominated the 2nd half, but manunited on the counter attack with ronaldo crossing a perfect inch ball for rooney, only to take his shot wide when he was 1-on-1 with the goalkeeper. had that ball gone in, surely its over for liverpool. Liverpool had a chance to draw level on the 95minute when they were awarded a free kick. Gerrard stepped up, and curled his shot on the roof of the net. the whistle goes. 1-0 to manunited. victory over liverpool would never be as sweet.
